“The qualification process of the presidential election nominees concluded yesterday [after days of numerous sessions],” the council's spokesman, Abbas-Ali Kadkhodaei, told IRIB on Tuesday.
He added that the final list of the qualified candidates was handed over to the country’s Interior Ministry late last night.
In a seperate interview, Kadkhodaei said only seven individuals had been approved by the vetting body to run for president
The Ministry will announce the names later on, he added.
The vetting body was examining the qualifications of more than 590 candidates who registered to run for president for ten days.
Iran will hold the 13th presidential election on June 18.
