Quds Day a global movement against global arrogance: Constitutional Council

The Constitutional Council hailed the International Quds Day as a worldwide movement against colonialism and arrogant powers, noting that the crimes committed by the Zionist regime of Israel against Palestinians are no secret to freedom-seekers around the world.

In a statement on Thursday, the Constitutional Council hailed the International Quds Day as the symbol of the campaign against the global arrogance and oppression, saying, “Today, the crimes and atrocities of the cancerous regime of Israel against the Palestinian people are no secret to freedom-seekers around the world”.

Undoubtedly, what is happening in the Islamic lands today is a result of the regime’s support for international terrorism and its close ties with Takfiri groups, the statement further said.

“The Israeli regime is seeking to justify the illegitimate presence of arrogant powers in the region and undermine Islam through conspiracy and islamophobia. Israel is the epicenter of injustice in the region”.

The International Quds Day, which was initiated by the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini, is the symbol of fighting against the arrogance and oppression and supporting the oppressed Muslims across the world, it stressed.

To the wrath of the Zionist regime and its western backers, the International Quds Day has turned into a global movement and platform to reflect the voice of the voiceless and oppressed particularly in Palestine and Yemen, who are living under the oppression of the Zionist regime as well as the Saudi regime, it said.

Although this year like last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Iran will not hold rallies to mark the International Quds Day, but Muslims around the world are using social media and cyberspace to commemorate the Day, keep it alive and remind the world of the plight of the Palestinians through showing resistance, unity and solidarity and expressing hatred towards the US and the Zionist regime, it continued.

Emphasizing the legitimacy of the Palestinian and Yemeni resistance against Israel and Saudi Arabia, the Constitutional Council condemned the two regimes’ crimes and human rights violations, quoting a verse from the Holy Quran: “Verily, the promise of Allah is true”.

The International Quds Day is held annually on the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and oppose the Zionist regime of Israel. It falls this year on May 7.
